Week 8: Propaganda in Advertising/PR

This ad for adidas uses the propaganda technique for beautiful people. They use derrick rose, a basketball player from the Chicago Bulls as their representative.

There is also repetition involved with the 9.8 number that keeps appearing during the commericial. The 9.8 is to remind people and tell us that the new adidas shoe weighes 9.8 oz.

Week 7: Internet

Everyone uses the internet in our society today. Some may use it more than others and vice versa. I have two close friends who are constantly on the internet shopping online or playing games and checking facebook. Online shopping has made shopping so much easier because we can just buy something with a click at home or in fact anywhere with internet. My friend is always on Ebay trying to find things to buy that seem interesting to her. She also has a habit of checking many clothing stores online daily. She has tried cutting down on her habit of shopping online because she realized she was spending too much money and buying unnecessary things.

Week 5: Movies

My favorite movie of 2010-11 would be Inception. I really liked this movie because it was different from a lot of movies seen out today. It had an incredible plot, well known actors, and a mind blowing ending. I really enjoyed the scenes and kept me entertained throughout the whole movie. I saw this movie twice in theaters and enjoyed watching it both times.

Another movie I really liked was The Prestige which was released in 2006. This movie had an amazing storyline as well. It wasn't really an action packed film but rather mysterious and kept you constantly captivated. The movie was very entertaining and had an incredible twist at the end. I saw this movie a couple years after it had come out on dvd.
